Fitment Guide: For Aftermarket Wheels & Tire Carriers- READ BEFORE PURCHACE!

Fits all 2021+ Ford Bronco trims, including: Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Badlands, Outer Banks, Wildtrak, Everglades, and Heritage Editions and ALL Sasquatch Packages with OEM tire carrier and rear mounted spare and OEM receiver hitch. See below for fitment on vehicle with aftermarket wheels and tires or tire carriers

Will work with ALL OEM spare tire and wheel combinations.

  • Will work with any spare tire size. Fitment depends on wheel size, not tire size
  • Will work with all OEM wheel (rim) sizes up to 20”
  • Will work with all OEM installed tire carriers
  • NOT recommended for vehicles with aftermarket bumpers with integrated hitch

IF you have an aftermarket spare wheel (rim) or an aftermarket tire carrier please follow the guidelines below OR watch this video to ensure proper fitment of your rucRak to your application.

NOTE 1: If you have an aftermarket wheel, measure wheel depth by placing a placing a yardstick or a level flat across the tire and measuring from the lug nut to the outside of the tire, see the image below noting 5-7/8".

If that measurement is MORE than 5-7/8", then you will need to add Mounting Stud Extensions to your order.

Fitment Note 1 NOTE 2 : If you have an aftermarket tire carrier, measure the tire height by placing a yardstick or a level inside the hitch and measuring from the center of the wheel to the top of the hitch, see image below noting <2-1/2".

If that measurement is MORE than 22.5", then you will need to add Feet Extension Set to your order.

Fitment Note 2 NOTE 3 : If you have an aftermarket tire carrier or a positive offset on your wheel, measure from the pin hole in your hitch to a virtual vertical line on the outside of your tire as shown in the mage below noting <14".

If that measurement is MORE than 14”, then you will need to add Pedestal Extension Set to your order.

Notes about Carrying Bikes

The Grunt can carry 1 or 2 bikes. While the Grunt was originally designed for traditional pedal bikes, you can safely load your e-bike(s) on it as long as the wheel base is 45 inches or less, and the total weight is under 150 lbs. If you need a carrier for larger or heavier bikes, please check out our upcoming e-bike rack, The Chief.
Although the bike rack kit accessory is not absolutely required for carrying bikes, as there are plenty of places to strap them on, it is recommended. You can find it here: Bike Rack Accessory Kit

Dimensions & Weight Capacity

While other racks claim 500lb+ capacities that can exceed your vehicle's tongue weight and damage your frame, the rucRak GRUNT is precision-engineered for a safe 150lb payload.

Why 150lbs?

  • Hitch Integrity: Most mid-size SUVs have a tongue weight limit of 350lbs. Once you account for the weight of a heavy steel rack and the "lever effect" of the cargo, a 150lb limit keeps you well within the safe operating zone for your Jeep or Bronco.
  • Dynamic Force Protection: When you hit a pothole or a trail bump, a 150lb load can briefly exert over 350lbs of force. Our limit ensures your factory tire carrier and hitch remain stress-free.
  • Practical Utility: 150lbs is more than enough for a fully-loaded 65qt cooler plus your recovery gear, or 3-4 bags of mulch for your weekend project.

Will it block my tailgate?

No. You retain full swing-gate access, even fully loaded.

Will the GRUNT cargo carrier with bike rack put stress on my tire mount or tailgate?

No. The GRUNT’s patented load-handler system evenly distributes weight, protecting your tire carrier and tailgate from stress or damage.

Does the GRUNT attach to the hitch?

The GRUNT mounts to your spare tire and uses a load-handler that rests in the hitch only for support and stability — not primary mounting. Your hitch stays open for towing.

This means the spare tire handles the mounting, and the hitch simply stabilizes the load — so you get full tailgate access, zero wobble, and no stress on your tire carrier.

How much weight can the GRUNT hold?

The GRUNT cargo rack supports up to 125 lbs when using the load handler.
